Happy New Year from Laura & Ben! Today we look back, as we like to do, on the highlights of the previous year — both in the world of veganism, and in our personal lives.
Here are some of the highlights we discuss, and some of the things we don’t have time to discuss but you’re more than welcome to read about:

Thanks to Zachary Jordan for his email:
I have a question about talking to my non-vegan niece and nephew about veganism and what happens to farmed animals. Right now my brother’s kids are both too young for me to feel comfortable sharing graphic details about animal agriculture, but eventually I would like to get real with them about it. My brother and sister-in-law are aware that I am an ethical vegan, but they haven’t indicated that conversations about veganism are a taboo subject around their kids. Should I ask them for their permission to talk about animal rights with their kids (if the situation feels appropriate — like if they ask me why I don’t eat meat, or what “vegan” means)? Have either of you discussed veganism with younger family members and did you receive pushback from parents?
I love the show!
