(Air Date: October 30, 2012)
I know — it’s been AGES since our last episode, right? 😉
We wanted to get this to you just in time before Halloween — even if you’ve already survived a barrage of trick-or-treaters.
Please hit us up with any feedback you have, we love hearing from you!
Leave us a voicemail: (315) VEGAN-01 (that’s 315-834-2601)
WHAT’S FOR DINNER?
Laura has a Tofurky Pizza
(don’t picture a turkey-flavored pizza… it’s not!)
Ben had a boring-ass veggie burger and fries
at the Cosmic Diner on 52nd St,
surrounded by fellow drag queens.
WHAT’S A KIKI?
BEN MAY OR MAY NOT BE A HO
Ben divulges a bit about his sex life, and reveals his ideas for creating more responsible sexual conduct in the gay community (and beyond.)
HISSES & PURRS:
Laura’s purring about:
James Cameron goes vegan and openly says it is for the animals!!
Ben’s hissing about:
A Heifer International catalog came in the mail, soliciting donations to send livestock to third world countries as gifts to help poverty stricken individuals. WTF?
By the way — here’s a link to the ridiculous question they have posted on their website.
AS IF an actual vegan/vegetarian wrote this question, right?!?
…and Ben suggests that you give instead to:
Kiva.org (micro-credit loans to third world countries),
just be sure to give to animal-free businesses!
Laura’s hissing about:
All the commotion over Michael Vick having a new dog, and everyone’s perpetual obsession with Michael Vick’s evil-ness while munching on hamburgers.
Ben’s purring about:
Shoes of Prey will custom make vegan shoes fit for a drag queen!

Ben & Laura discuss their favorite
Cocomels (Vegan Caramels)
Go Max Go (Vegan Candy Bars)
Sweet & Sara (Marshmallows)
…and Ben likes:
a few easier-to-find (over-the-counter) favorites such as:
Chick-O-Sticks, Mambas, Nutter Butters, Oreos, and Skittles,
and as always, anything on PETA’S Accidentally Vegan list
(…and don’t forget — Starburst are NOT vegan!)
In the first version of this episode, Ben originally included “Smarties” in his list of candies that are vegan. This was a mistake! As you may remember from Episode 1, we previously stated that Smarties are in fact NOT vegan.
As stated on their own website, Smarties states that their candy is indeed vegan:
IT IS CONFIRMED! Smarties are vegan! Here is the email I received from Smarties:

Thank you for your email at Smarites.com, Ben-
Please be assured that our Smarties products are vegan and do not contain any animal products or by products. The information that is listed on the link that you included in your email, regarding Smarties containing carmine, is false.
We appreciate you brining this to our attention, thank you! We hope that this has addressed your concern. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us.

You have an article on your site that states that Smarties are indeed Vegan.
However – as I have seen published on other websites, some Smarties are dyed using carmine (a dye derived from beetle-like insects)
Is this true? Has this changed?
Here is a link to this source:
You mentioned on your site that Smarties are indeed vegan and that they contain no animal ingredients. Here is a link to that page on your site:
We have one lame-ass voice mail from Ben’s roommate, Kittin Withawhip
